Atlantis makes the last ever Space Shuttle landing

Atlantis ShuttleJust before dawn, the Atlantis shuttle and the crew of the 135 Space Shuttle mission touched down at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

This landing marked the end of the 30 year space shuttle programme.

Space shuttle Atlantis lifted off July 8 on the final flight of the shuttle program – a 13-day mission to the International Space Station.

Atlantis carried a crew of four, and delivered supplies and spare parts for the space station.

The astronauts were Commander Chris Ferguson, Pilot Doug Hurley, and Mission Specialists Sandy Magnus and Rex Walheim.
