New stamps released by Royal Mail celebrate the 150th birthday of the Battersea Dog Home
The world famous rescue centre has come a long way since 1860.
The stamps will feature ten ex-residents of the Home – seven dogs and three cats, who are all now in happy new homes.
The photographs were taken over several days in London and Windsor by renowned animal photographer Steve Hoskins.
All of the images selected for the stamps really capture the true character of rescue animals and everyone in the Home is really looking forward to their release.
Royal Mail will also produce a first day cover pack – a special envelope featuring all of the stamps and a unique postal stamp to mark the date of issue; set of ten stamp cards; presentation pack; and medal pack detailing the historical development of the Home from 1860 to the present day. They will all be available for purchase from Post Offices across the UK from Thursday 11 March.
