Recently we have found a fantastic series of books starring the rather unusual pairing of Ivy and Bean.
When they first met Ivy and Bean were sure that they would never like each other – they are just too different. Bean is loud and wild and goofy, whilst Ivy is quiet and full of ideas!
However, Ivy and Bean prove that really sometimes opposites can become the best of friends because they’re opposites! Their differences mean that they have more fun together than they could ever have separately.
Written by Annie Barrows, the Ivy and Bean books are about the adventures – and disasters – created by this unlikely team!
There are now seven books in this great series with the seventh book ‘Ivy and Bean: What’s the Big Idea?‘ just coming out now in hardback.
To give you a bit more of a taste of these two, we’ve included some information on the latest two books below!
Ivy and Bean and the Big Idea
It’s the Science Fair! And the second grade is all over it.
Some kids are making man-eating robots. Some kids are holding their breath for a very, very long time. Some kids are doing interesting things with vacuum cleaners.
The theme, obviously, is global warming. But what should Ivy and Bean do? Something with explosions? Or ropes? Something with ice cubes? Or maybe. . . maybe something different.
Finally! After months of begging their parents for ballet lessons, Ivy and Bean finally get what they wanted. . . well, not exactly. It turns out ballet lessons are actually about learning how to dance gracefully. Who’d have thought?
Weren’t there supposed to be karate chops and round house kicks? If only the girls hadn’t promised their parents to finish the entire ballet course!
When it comes time for Ivy and Bean to participate in the ocean-themed class recital, the girls must figure out a way to get out of it without breaking their promises.
Check out the trailer too!
