Every year seems to be a huge year for The Black Eyed Peas and 2010 has been no exception.
Just like other contender Rihanna, The Black Eyed Peas have certainly finished the year strongly with their single The Time (Dirty Bit) hitting the top of the UK charts to become their fifth UK Number One single.
This single came from their new album which came out at the end of November, The Beginning, but the album actually received mixed reviews and hasn’t done that well in the sales – something which may go against them in winning Artist of the Year.
However, they’ve had a truly massive year in terms of live performances.
In June, The Black Eyed Peas performed a series of songs, including Pump It and Where is the Love? at the 2010 FIFA World Cup Kick-Off Celebration concert in South Africa. They performed live to over 700 million viewers worldwide, making it the biggest ever event the group has performed in.
And something truly groundbreaking, in March The Black Eyed Peas became the first ever to broadcast a conert live in 3D!
This isn’t going to be their only 3D adventure though – they have plans to work on a 3D film with Avatar director James Cameron! Once again indicating that in future years they will very much be contenders for this title again.
So do you think The Black Eyed Peas deserve to be crowned Artist of the Year? Let us know!
