In fact, they can reach 9 metres long and weigh over 200 kilograms. To put that in context, if five 10-year-olds lie down head to foot they’ll be about the same length as this huge snake, and it’ll take another six kids to weigh as much!
Being part of the family of snakes called constrictors, it kills its prey by wrapping itself around the animal and squeezing it to death.
Don’t worry though – as long you don’t threaten them they shouldn’t see you as prey.
But still treat with caution!
