These colourful little frogs are beautiful and may only be one inch long, but whatever you do don’t touch them!


Their skin secretes a powerful poison that can kill if it comes in contact with an open wound.

These frogs are considered one of Earth’s most poisonous species!

In fact, their poison is so effective that it is used by certain tribes for the tips of blowdarts, which is where they get their name.

It is believed that frogs get their posion from the insects they eat. These insects feed on plants that have toxins which then pass to the frogs when they eat the insects.

So probably best not to eat plants in the Amazon either!
