I Love My Mummy

ILoveMyMummyBy Emma Dodd, Giles Andreae

Age: 0+

Mother’s Day is just around the corner and so it’s the right time to be celebrating that special person in your life – your mum.

The mum in this story does lots of things that will remind you of your own mummy – and which make you giggle; mummy singing in the car, dancing around in her underwear, playing with bubbles in the bath and of course giving treats (when you’re good!).

The text is by Giles Andreae, creator of Purple Ronnie, and the pictures are funny, cosy and just right to curl up with your lovely mum on Mother’s Day.

The Hundred-Mile-An-Hour-Dog Goes for Gold

By Jeremy Strong

Age: 7+

HundredMileHourDogGoldHere’s another dynamic doggy with stars in his eyes. This time it’s Olympian gold she’s aiming for – or, at least, a medal in the Animal Games.

Streaker the Hundred-Mile-An-Hour dog is the fastest thing on four legs, so naturally her owner Trevor signs her up for the Animal Games. There’ll be show jumping for horses and rabbits, and discus for dogs. But while Streaker can run like the wind, obedience isn’t her strong point. And she is really, really bad at catching frisbees. Will nasty Charlie Smugg’s Alsatians clinch all the prizes?

This story has flying frozen pizzas, cheating Olympic trainers, a suspect doggy bag (that is, a dog IN a bag) and lots of medals. But who gets the gold?!
