2010 European Gymnastics Championships @ NEC (21 April to 2 May)

The European Gymnastics Championships is one of the highlights of the European circuit and the third most prestigious artistic gymnastics event in the world gymnastics calendar. It will be held at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham from 21 April until 2 May 2010.

The event is being jointly organised by British Gymnastics and Birmingham City Council. Marketing Birmingham and UK Sport will also be key partners for these Championships.

Around 800 of Europe’s best gymnasts from 40 countries will participate in this event, which will incorporate team and individual competitions for seniors and juniors in both men’s and women’s artistic gymnastics.

The event is being staged in Britain just two years before the London Olympic Games and so will provide all the gymnasts and teams with a taste of the atmosphere that they can expect in 2012.

The junior element of the Championships will also act as a qualifying event for the first ever Youth Olympic Games.
