Just because you’re in the middle of London, it doesn’t mean you’re too far away for a family farm day out!
There are loads of City Farms in London for you visit, and lots of them have special events on over the summer holidays.

Here’s a few of our favourite activities you can try –
Horse Riding at Vauxhall City Farm
Vauxhall City Farm offer a wide range of riding lessons for all ages and abilities. Their group lessons take place throughout the week. All lessons last 45 minutes and children’s lessons are available subsidised for those on working tax credits or income support. They are also Riding for the Disabled approved, so everyone can join in.
They also do individual sessions for the more experienced riders, and own a pony days for children ages 6-16. They can learn to care and look after a pony; grooming, feeding, mucking out, tacking up, stable management lectures and lots of riding. There will even be a rosette to take home!
It’s running from 26th August, 27th August, 28th August, and it’s £60 per day.
Hounslow Urban farm Animal Encounters
Hounslow Urban farm have a number of events happening daily to ensure that you and your family have a fun filled and enjoyable time.
One of our favourite activities to do is their Animal Encounter sessions. You will get to meet and learn about some of your favourite farm yard friends as well as some of the slightly more exotic residents now calling the Urban Farm home.
If you ever wanted to get close to a cuddly chick or meet a loveable lamb this is the place to be!
Play facilities are also available with an outdoor play area and indoor bouncy castle.
Lee Valley Parks Farm Milking Time
Ever wondered how to milk a cow? See and learn all about a real farm and get up close with the Clover the cow!
Catch a ride to see the milking time at Tex’s Tractor Stop. At specified times of the day you can take the short journey to a working dairy farm and see how it’s all done.
