Big Dance is the ultimate London dance experience and celebration of dance and dancing, with 9 days of dance events in unusual places throughout the city – shops, parks, galleries and museums – showcasing the diversity of dance styles and cultural attractions across the capital.
Big Dance aims to encourage people to ‘get into dance, increase fitness levels and generate a legacy of dance for all.
Most importantly everyone is invited to join in!
Big Dance will promote London as a world-class centre for high quality dance to an international audience and the aim is that thousands of people will be inspired to make dance a part of their lives.
Big Dance activity will be led by five Hubs who are currently consulting with organisations:
- North – Sadler’s Wells
- South – Siobhan Davies Dance
- South-East – Greenwich Dance Agency
- East – East London Dance
- West – English National Ballet
Big Dance Schools Pledge
The goal is to encourage every child in a London school to participate. Working in partnership with the British Council – Connecting Classrooms programme so the invitation to participate is worldwide, with the world record attempt will take place at 1pm on 9 July 2010.
