Blenheim Palace Jousting Tournament (2 – 4 May)

May 2, 2009toMay 4, 2009

joust1Watch brave knights joust to become the Champion of the day

To win a joust, a knight must knock his opponent off his horse or hit his rival full in the helmet with his lance while at full gallop.  These are the acts of true skill and courage. And when the courageous knights fall to the ground, they will continue their combat on foot using mediaeval weaponry including the ball and chain, mace, sword, shield and quarterstaff.

Choose your favourite knight as they battle it out to find the worthy Champion, admire their skill as they score extra points by picking up Saracens heads lying on the ground or spear small rings at a gallop with their 4metre lances, and watch harris hawks and falcons swoop and dart around the sky in amazing displays of precision and skill during the birds of prey displays.

The Robot thinks this is just great, and recommends heading to Blenheim Palace, one of the top stately homes in Britain, this May Bank Holiday weekend for a weekend of FUN.
