The Tricycle theatre production of Arthur Miller’s Broken Glass is showing at the Vaudeville theatre.
Broken Glass, Miller’s Olivier award-winning drama, tells the story of Phillip and Sylvia Gellburg, a New York couple living in Brooklyn in 1938.
Phillip, obsessed with work and has little time for his wife, but when Sylvia suddenly becomes paralysed after reading newspaper reports of Kristallnacht in Germany, he asks a psychiatrist, Dr. Harry Hyman, to help his wife Sylvia recover from her trauma. As he gets closer to the source of Sylvia’s affliction, it creates problems within the couple’s relationship.
