Chinese New Year celebrations to mark the start of the Year of the Ox include the customary entertainment in central London on 1 February and a series of events around London including a film festival, variety show and a photography exhibition.
This year’s main festivities on 1 February include Chinese entertainment in Trafalgar Square, fireworks in Leicester Square and stalls, food and the lion dance display in Chinatown.
London’s celebration for the Chinese New Year of the Ox includes traditional and contemporary Chinese entertainment in Trafalgar Square with performances from artists from Qinghai and Kunming provinces in China.
Plus fireworks in Leicester Square, cultural stalls, food, decorations and lion dance displays in Chinatown and local performance stage in Shaftesbury Avenue. HaiBao, the mascot of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo will take part in the event.
