The sights and sounds of Christmas will echo around STEAM over the weekend of 5 and 6 December when the Museum opens its doors for just £1 per person. Children under three go free.Vendor at food stall
Following on from the huge success of last years event, this special weekend will see the whole Museum turned into a Christmas wonderland with all the traditional trimmings.
Over 40 market stalls will be placed around the Museum, selling luxury goods and traditional crafts from all over the region. Designer jewellery, pottery, paintings, games and toys, organic soaps, handmade sweets and chutneys will be amongst the hundreds of goods on offer.
In between browsing the plethora of unique market stalls, there’s plenty to keep all members of the family occupied. Santa will be in his magical Grotto, accompanied by one of his Elves who will make sure young children get their surprise gift if they’ve been good. On Saturday, there’s the chance to meet retired GWR engine drivers, firemen and railway workers who will welcome you aboard the footplate of some of the famous locomotives at STEAM. A variety of musical performances will also take place in the Scraggery and on the Station Platform throughout the weekend.
To keep your energy levels up, there’s a Christmas Cafe, topped up with hearty snacks and seasonal treats.
Please note that there is no free parking available to visitors for the Christmas at STEAM event and Swindoncard discounts, or any other promotional offer, cannot be used in conjunction with the special admission price.
