Star Wars™ Reads events across the UK this April – see dates, locations and timings!

Days Out / 1 April - 1 May 2017

Star Wars™ Reads, a celebration of literacy and all things Star Wars, is returning for its sixth year with events all over the UK this April!

Now spanning a full month, Star Wars Reads will again feature Star Wars authors, artists and enthusiasts coming together in a nationwide celebration in association with DK, Penguin Random House, Scholastic, Egmont, Abrams, Chronicle Books and Topps.

The tour starts at Oxford Literary Festival on 1st April and finishes in Leeds at The Rainbow Factory on 1st May! ill also be plenty of activities to join in with at local schools, libraries and independent bookshops across the UK in the run up to Star Wars Day on 4th May.

Oxford Literary Festival – 1 April

Meet new characters, learn to speak droid and how to draw a Wookie with JAKe, illustrator of How to Speak Droid with R2-D2, and Tom Huddleston, author of The Dark and The Nest in the Star Wars: Adventures in Wild Space series. Test your knowledge with a fun quiz about all things Star Wars.

Topps Swap and Play Tour – Various

Fans can swap current Match Attax and take part in tournaments. Star Wars Reads day activity packs will be available for Star Wars fans during these events, taking place 11am – 4pm at the venues across the UK.

Cardiff Children’s Book Festival – 2 April

Join Cavan Scott and Tom Huddleston, authors of Star Wars: Adventures in Wild Space series, which features this year’s bestselling World Book Day book. Learn all about the brand new Star Wars characters that feature in the series and then test your knowledge with a fun quiz about all things Star Wars! Costumes welcome.

Foyles – 8 April (Birmingham), 23 April (Bristol)

FREE Star Wars party. The day will include Star Wars themed activities and colouring, edible goodies sent from a galaxy far, far away and out of this world face painting to transform you into your favourite characters.

Cambridge – 18 – 23 April

Foyles, Charing Cross Road – 29 April

From 10am -12pm there’s a  Star Wars Reads Extravaganza with Star Wars arts and crafts for kids. Bring the little ones along for a morning of arts and crafts. Meet R2D2 and learn to draw him with Lucasfilm illustrator JAKe. Colour in Darth Vader and make your own hairy Wookie finger puppet to take home. Tickets – £3 (supervising adults go free)
