All are welcome at the annual celebration of Diwali, ‘the festival of light’, in Trafalgar Square between 2 and 7pm.
Diwali has religious significance for Hindus, Sikhs and Jains and is celebrated by many communities throughout the capital. This free event will present a colourful programme of entertainment, including music and dance.
Diwali in the Square will transform Trafalgar Square with vibrant Diwali celebrations, including traditional light displays, floating lanterns and colourful Diwali decorations. Open to all, the event promises to light up Trafalgar Square in traditional Indian style.
There’s also a number of special activities for both kids and families to take part in this year, with classical, urban and street dance showcases to entertain both young and old.
