On the first Saturday of every month the Geffrye offers a range of fun activities, including quizzes (all ages) and creative crafts (suitable for young people aged 5 – 11).
Here’s what’s coming up in the next few weeks:
Saturday 24 September, 10.30am – 12noon and 2.00 – 4.00pm
Create a hanging decoration for your room inspired by ceramic objects.
Sunday 25 September, 12.30 – 1.30pm and 3.00 – 4.30pm
Paint a ceramic magnet with Geffrye patterns.
Festive Fifties Family Day
Sunday 16 October, 12.00noon – 4.00pm
Watch Fifties films, explore period objects, make terrific TV masks and listen to stories from the olden days. This event celebrates Family Learning Festival.
Saturday 1 October,10.30am – 12.30pm and 2.00 – 4.00pm
Learn how to create a monoprint to decorate your room. This event celebrates The Big Draw.
Fizzing, Whooshing and Banging Hats
Saturday 5 November, 10.30am – 12.30pm and 2.00 – 4.00pm
Create a fun hat for Firework night.
Art Deco Decorations
Saturday 3 December, 10.30am – 12.30pm and 2.00 – 4.00pm
Make an array of delightful 1930’s Christmas decorations.
Times: Workshops run from 10.30am – 12.30pm and 2.00 – 4.00pm.
Price: All activities are free. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis 30 minutes prior to the workshop.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
