familyday-designmuseumBring the whole family along to the Design Museum for an exciting day of activities and fun with workshops, exhibition trails, games and competitions.


Meet the Designer, 2.30pm
Meet designer Donna Wilson and her menagerie of strange and beautiful creatures. Then draw a creature of your own to take home!

Drop in Creativity Workshop: Loopy Letters, 11am- 2pm
Inspired by the inventive fonts of Dutch graphic designer Wim Crouwel, come along and bring the alphabet to life. Draw a loopy letter then use modelling techniques to transform it into your own letter sculpture.

Creativity Workshop: Mechanical Toys, start times 11.30am and 2pm
Craft, invent and tinker to create your very own automata using every day objects like washers, chopsticks and a cardboard box. Run by Fire the Inventor
Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Family Gallery Tours
Meet a member of the team for a fun and engaging half hour guided tour through the museum with highlights from our current exhibitions.

Graphics Workshop: Posters
Become a graphic designer for the day and a design a poster for the Design Museum.

Museum Explore Trails
Collect your Explore Trail and pencil from the admissions desk and get exploring with observation and creative exercises for all budding designers.
