This RHS-Family-fun-day-2summer holidays, why not enjoy a great day out exploring the countryside.  There is so much to see.

Why not visit your local RHS Garden, and remember, kids go free throughout August.

Events this week include:

Daily to 30 August – Sunflower Maze, Garden Games and Wild at Wisley Play Area
RHS Garden Wisley
WOKING, Surrey

  • Weave your way through our giant Sunflower Maze, challenge the family to garden games and balance, hide and swing your way through our Wild at Wisley play area.

Daily to 29 August  – The Mystery Garden Quest
RHS Garden Harlow Carr, North Yorkshire

  • Take on the quest around the garden, you’ll be surprised by what you find!
  • 10am – 4pm

Daily to 8 August  – Plants that Bite Back
RHS Garden Wisley
WOKING, Surrey

  • Wind your way around our trail and discover amazing plants.
  • On 31 July and 1 Aug – Sow and grow some spicy seeds.
  • On 3 and 4 Aug – Plant your own carnivorous plug plant.
  • On 7 and 8 Aug – Sow and grow some spicy seeds.

7–8 August – The Essex Art & Design Show

  • Join artists and designers showcasing and selling a wide range of work including fine art, photography, jewellery and other contemporary crafts. More than just a craft show, all work is designed and made by the exhibitors. This is your opportunity to
  • buy unique and individual pieces either for yourself or as that special gift.
  • Cost: Kids go FREE, normal garden admission applies for adults.  Booking not required.

7 / 8 August – Bush Crafts

  • Every weekend in August develop your outdoor skills with den building and bush crafts in the woodland zone
  • 10am – 4pm

8 August  – Garden Yoga Adventure and the Yoga Bugs
RHS Garden Harlow Carr
North Yorkshire

  • If you would like something a little more serene why not try your hand at Yoga in the garden. For the little garden adventurers and mini explores have a go at the storytelling yoga session with the Yoga Bugs Session lasts approx 20 mins.
  • Wet weather option organised in case of rain.
  • Yoga mats will be provided.
  • 11.15am, 11.50am, 12.30pm, 1.15pm, 1.50pm & 2.30pm

9 to 22 August – Survival Skills

  • Join forces as a family and develop your outdoor skills with den building,
  • knot tying and tracking.
  • Try miniature raft building on 10 and 11 Aug
  • Try camouflage on 12 and 17 Aug

11 August – Summer Family Fun Days
RHS Garden Rosemoor
Devon

  • Come along to Rosemoor for a fun filled family day out! As well as being able to stroll around the enchanting garden, there will be a variety of attractions for all the family to enjoy, with art and craft workshops, face painting, storytelling and much more.
  • Normal Garden Entry

11 August – Children’s Bug Hunt

  • A chance for children to explore the garden looking for bugs and beasties! Help and guidance available throughout.
  • Cost: Kids go FREE, normal garden admission applies for adults.  Booking not required.
  • Between 11am & 3pm

12 August – Family Fun Day – Theatre Capers
RHS Garden Hyde Hall,
CHELMSFORD

  • Sit back and enjoy a fun and light hearted version of Shakespeare’s Macbeth – a play in which you can choose to take part if you fancy ‘treading the boards’! For younger visitors there will be a traditional puppet theatre and puppet parade at 3pm.
  • Cost: Kids go FREE, normal garden admission applies for adults.  Booking not required.
  • Between 11am & 4pm

13 – 15 August – Hyde Hall’s Celebration of Plants

  • Enjoy a visit to the garden and be tempted by the wonderful selection of plants and shrubs for sale offered by some of the region’s best nurseries.
  • Cost: Kids go FREE, normal garden admission applies for adults.
  • Early bird free admission until 11am on Saturday 14th.  Booking not required.
  • Fri & Sat – 10am to 5.30pm
  • Sun 10am to 4.30pm
