A traditional fun day out with BBQ’s, bouncy castles, magic shows, music & dancing. Also lots of raffles, stalls, food and even Dray Horse rides all in aid of St. Christopher’s Hospice who are hosting the day in their lovely gardens (adults £1 entry kids no charge).

Arts in the Park / Family Fun Day – Sun 1 July
Five hours of fantastic fun and creativity in the wonderful setting of Home Park.
Music and dance acts will perform on the main stage throughout the afternoon, while elsewhere on site there will be storytelling, free arts activities, children’s games, theatre, puppetry, walkabout acts, as well as a funfair and food stalls offering great food from around the world.
Don’t miss the free workshops in animation, dance & drumming.
Highlights include:
Charlene Soraia
At 1pm: official opening of the festival, as Sydenham-based Charlene Soraia sings her hit song “Wherever You Will Go” (used in the Twinings Tea advert and reached No.1 in the i-Tunes chart)
1.10pm: Endurance Steel Orchestra – locally-based, energetic & musically delightful steel pan orchestra
1.30pm: A circus show featuring robotic dancing, comedy mime, juggling and audience participation
2pm: ‘Flights of Fondant Fancy’ – an airborne theatrical adventure featuring a flying mouse, an informative pigeon and a transforming teashop
2.10pm: Animation workshop – ‘Mister Who’, a team of talented illustrators and artists, run a workshop embodying the fusion of video animation, eclectic music and illustrated comics
4pm: Harmony Wind Quartet – a family classical concert within Sydenham Library
5pm: Singer songwriter Randolph Matthews, who draws on the soul greats and Neo African rhythms to create surprising and original work.
