The SUBWAY Helping Hearts™ Family 5K Fun Run series is returning for its fifth year after a record breaking 2016!
The 5K series is bouncing back with nine events taking place throughout the UK from May to September.
The series will again run in partnership with national charity Heart Research UK, and is part of the SUBWAY® brand efforts to encourage families to live healthier and more active lifestyles together.
The nine locations the series will be visiting this year include Glasgow, Edinburgh, Belfast, Cambridge, Newport, Nottingham, Birmingham, Southampton and Maidstone!
The 5K series takes a twist on the traditional 5K run by including the “Field of Fresh” challenge for the last 500m before the finish line!
This is where you can tackle a giant inflatable course – inspired by the SUBWAY® menu!
Don’t worry though, if you don’t want to bounce through to the finish line you can follow the traditional 5K route instead.
And the family fun doesn’t just end at the finish line…
You can relax in the Family Village, which is open from 10:30am – 2pm and includes face-painting, music, more inflatable fun for children, and games for the whole family to enjoy, and we have also sports like tennis, also a ping pong table from www.pingpongtablereviews.com.
Children under 12 years old can participate for free, and it’s just £7 for all other participants that register in advance online!
All participants will receive a free T-Shirt, a free SUBWAY® lunch, a finisher’s medal and access to the Family Village!
All funds raised will be donated directly to Heart Research UK and the SUBWAY® Healthy Heart grant scheme, an initiative providing up to £10,000 each to local projects throughout the UK that actively promote heart health in the community.
