This year is the third Greenwich Children’s Theatre Festival
This year’s festival is spread right across the borough with some of the finest children’s theatre in the UK presented in more venues and open spaces than ever before.
The Eltham Centre, Greenwich Heritage Centre, West Greenwich Library, Cutty Sark Gardens, Greenwich Dance Agency and Laban are all joining in to host events this year, and for the first time there will be a full week of performances at The Tramshed in Woolwich in partnership with the Greenwich and Lewisham Young People’s Theatre.
Featuring well-known stories such as Alice in Wonderland and brand new ones like The Dragon’s Daughter, huge adventures like Jumping Mouse and a tiny suitcase theatre from Woodenfingers, Shakespearean fairies in Moon Fool and Calico Pie’s musical journey of poetry and nursery rhymes, plus a packed workshop programme of drama, musical theatre and puppetry, this is a great and adventurous line-up.
The festival is one of the most vibrant times of year for us at Greenwich Theatre. With puppets and poets, folk tales and fairy tales, magic and music, we never know quite what may be around the next corner.
