Saturday Specials
On the first Saturday of every month the Geffrye offers a range of fun activities, including quizzes (all ages) and creative crafts (suitable for young people aged 5 – 15).
All children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis 30 minutes prior to the workshop.
Special activities for younger children, aged 3 and their carers are listed separately below Saturday Specials.

Marvellous Mirrors
Saturday 4 July
10.30am – 12.30pm, repeated from 2.00 – 4.00pm
Make a mirror inspired by seaside designs.

Summer Sunday – Family Day

Garden Party – Family Day
Sunday 19 July
12.00 noon – 5.00pm
Listen to music by The Toots, make Mad Hatter’s tea party hats, and play garden games.

Summer workshop activity at the Geffrye

Inside/Outside
Three exciting weeks of activities for children aged 3-16, exploring summertime in both inside spaces such as house or flats and outside spaces such as gardens or the seaside. Have your face painted, build a high-rise with the Building Exploratory, meet Zoolab and some unsual animals, and observe bees from the North London Beekeepers Association.

Tuesday 21 July

Nursery Rhyme Time – for children aged 3-5 and their carers

Explore the seaside in this interactive storytelling and craft session.

Nature Photos – for children aged 5 and over

Use the sun and special papers to create nature photos.

You’ve got mail – for children aged 5 – 9

Create and decorate a special letter rack to hold all your mail.

Ceramic seashore frames – for children aged 10 and over

High-Rise height chart – for children aged 5 and over

Pop-Up Sand Castles – for children aged 10 and over

Create a fun pop-up seaside card.

Fish and Chip Biscuits – for children aged 5 – 9
