This Lord Mayor’s Show Day, Saturday 13th November, visitors of all ages are invited to join in the celebrations at St Paul’s cathedral. Entry will be free all day, and visitors will be able to enjoy Prokofiev’s ‘Peter and the Wolf’ – a musical tale for children and adults.
Jo Brand, one of Britain’s funniest comedians, narrates the magical tale of the boy Peter and his daring attempt to capture a hungry wolf. Along the way we meet his friends: an elegant but rather haphazard duck, a twittering bird and a pompous cat, all with their own special musical tunes. But Peter’s miserable Grandfather is never far away, putting a terrible downer on things…
Come to St Paul’s and hear some of the greatest tunes ever written in an arrangement made especially for the organ of St Paul’s by the cathedral’s Organist, Simon Johnson.
There will be three performances at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.
