If you’re looking for a really special storytelling treat this Christmas, then this has to be it!
Legendary musician Jarvis Cocker has just been confirmed as the narrator for Peter & the Wolf Live. He teams up with the Philharmonic Orchestra for a magical musical and cinematic experience for the whole family.
The beautiful Oscar-winning film Peter & the Wolf brings to life Prokofiev’s classic introduction to the orchestra through the exciting story of a brave boy called Peter and his quest to defeat the Wolf.
Legendary musician Jarvis Cocker introduces the story and the instruments of the orchestra, which play character roles including the lovable Duck, represented by the oboe, the slinky Cat, played by the clarinet and the grumpy Grandfather, brought to life by the bassoon.
Suzie Templeton‘s darkly magical film then brings these characters to life before your eyes.
Suitable for all ages although younger children might find some scenes scary.
Southbank Centre presents Peter & the Wolf Live in association with Breakthru Films.
