Pick Me Up, the UK’s first annual contemporary graphic art fair returns for its biggest edition yet this spring.
The fair showcases the best new work from around the UK and the world with original works and prints available to purchase from just £10.
With loads of events and workshops for you to get involved with, expect eleven days of graphic mayhem!
The screening room will open all weekend for a rolling animation programme called Sprites; a selection of fun-packed shorts hand-picked for the new digital generation of young motion aficionados! With visually stimulating animations from around the world, this range of comical and charming stories promises to entertain, stimulate and delight all the family in true onedotzero style.
As part of this year’s Pick Me Up graphic art fair at Somerset House, D&AD will be hosting a Sharpner talk exploring the subject of Graphic Novels. To kick-start a weekend of comics and cartoons, the Comics Studies panel will lead you through the world of the graphic novel from the fun to the fanatical. Chair: Doug Wallace – Marketing Director, SelfMadeHero, with Sam Artrhur – Nobrow, JAKe – Comics artist, Illustrator. Limited tickets.
Join Aardman modelmaker, Jim Parkyn for a chance to model your very own Gromit. During his time on’ Wallace and Gromit’ Jim worked on a number of puppets including Gromit, a long list of villagers and was a one of the team of Bunny Builders for a great many rabbits. Please note that although tickets are free there is limited capacity and tickets will be allocated for one hour workshops on a first come first served basis on the morning on 24th March at Pick Me Up .
