Eureka! The National Children’s Museum is preparing for an alien invasion this Easter. From 4 to 19 April, the museum in Halifax, West Yorkshire will be home to all manner of extraterrestrial beings as well as a well known, time travelling doctor.
On Friday 10, Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 April, someone who looks a lot like infamous Time Lord, Dr Who, will be dropping in to say hello. Visitors are invited to join him in the Eureka! “TARDIS” to hear all about his space adventures and to catch a demonstration of multi-functional gizmo, the “Sonic Screwdriver”. But watch out! One of his arch enemies is lurking, waiting to exterminate anyone who crosses him!
Visitors can become Interstellar Navigators themselves every weekday throughout the holidays as they blast off into space with Eureka! aliens, the Oraks. In an exciting, interactive workshop children will climb aboard the HBFSC (the Handy, Bendy, Foldable Space Craft) to take an imaginary journey into space and learn all about the Solar System.
Back on earth some very strange discoveries have been made and the Eureka! team needs some helping hands to investigate them. Are you brave enough to check out the Alien Body Shock Box? Can you decipher the strange alien codes or work out which planet the Oraks have come from? The Alien Investigation Station will be open every day throughout the holidays for those that dare.
As if all that wasn’t enough to tempt you, there’s a special offer for little green men and women. Come dressed as an extraterrestrial of any sort and get into Eureka! free of charge (child must be accompanied by a full paying adult. See website for further terms and conditions).
