Saturday Club is a unique Saturday morning drama club at Hampstead Theatre, for children aged 8 – 10 (in school years 4 and 5). Through a variety of techniques, and working with a range of practitioners, children write, perform, devise and learn about theatre. Saturday Club is about building confidence, inspiring creativity, developing talent and, most of all, having fun!
Each term, the group comes together to explore the power and potential of theatre. Drawing on the model of our Creative Learning programme – which has been a vital part of the theatre’s work for over ten years – Saturday Club provides young people with access to expert writers and theatre practitioners in a professional working theatre.
Every term has a different focus: devising an original piece; writing and performing scripts; learning new skills or working on texts. In the final week, the children will present their work to friends and family in the Michael Frayn Space at Hampstead Theatre.
