  • How To Look Good Tudor Style at the Mary Rose Museum
  • Try on one of our costumes and step back in time.
  • A free mystery objects quiz for every child
  • FREE with a valid attraction ticket (children must be accompanied by an adult)

Travel through time with the National Museum of the Royal Navy to find out about the important discoveries and inventions that changed the Navy – and the world! Each week there will be crafts and quizzes plus the chance to add our giant timeline. And, if you get your Time Travellers Logbook stamped every week, you can enter into our free prize draw!

Wednesday 1 September

  • 11am – 1pm & 2pm – 4pm
  • Into The Future at the National Museum of the Royal Navy
  • What will life at sea be like in 2020? Use your imagination to make a fantastic floating, flying or fighting invention for the Navy to use in the future!
  • FREE drop-in workshop, all ages welcome

Saturday 4 & Sunday 5 September

  • 11am – 12noon & 2pm – 4pm
  • Puppets And Storytelling For Younger Children at the Mary Rose Museum
  • The story of life on board the Mary Rose told with puppets.
  • FREE with a valid attraction ticket (children must be accompanied by an adult)

Saturday 11 & Sunday 12 September
Saturday 25 & Sunday 26 September

  • 11am – 12noon & 2pm – 4pm
  • Battle Stations!
  • Longbows and arrows, cannon and shot.  See Tudor weapons of war; take part in a gun drill and fire our replica gun.
  • FREE with a valid attraction ticket (children must be accompanied by an adult)

Saturday 18 & Sunday 19 September

  • 11am – 12noon & 2pm – 4pm
  • ‘Tudor Tunes’
  • Was there a band on the Mary Rose?  Come and look at the musical instruments that were found on board
  • FREE with a valid attraction ticket (children must be accompanied by an adult)

Saturday 25 September

  • 10am
  • Naval Ancestors: Who Do You Think They Were at the National Museum of the Royal Navy in Victory Arena
  • Join experts from different museums and archives for a naval family history workshop. These specialists will show you how to understand key service records and describe the typical path of different naval careers. The morning will include an opportunity for you to ask the panel a research query about your naval ancestor. Suitable for those getting started on family history research, or who have already traced information but wish to understand more.
