It’s time to change gears and set yourself a challenge that will help vulnerable children across the UK. The BIG BIKE RIDE is your chance to break out of your usual cycling routine or get back on your bike by joining one of our NSPCC bike rides or organising your own at any time in July.
All the money raised by this year’s BIG BIKE RIDE is going to support the NSPCC’s Child’s Voice Appeal to raise £50 million for our vital helpline services. Sadly a third of children calling ChildLine can’t get through to talk to someone. With your help, we can transform ChildLine and the NSPCC Helpline to answer many more children’s cries for help, so that whether they call, email, text or contact us online, we’ll be here.

50km Ridgeway Route – this route follows the Ridgeway trail west through ancient landscapes before returning on country lanes with some great off-road sections.
75km Chilterns Trail – a tough challenge route which covers much of The Chilterns and the surrounding area to the east through secluded valleys and woods.

Road bikes are not suitable for this event. The cycling routes are very accessible consisting of hard gravel paths with a few roads and the odd section of dirt! Therefore we recommend that you use a mountain bike or a hybrid bike with heavy tread tyres to take part in this event. If you are unsure of your bike’s suitability we suggest you take it into your local bike shop to ask their advice.
