June 26, 2009toJune 28, 2009

story-of-londonThe Story of London festival celebrates the city’s past, present and future.

The Festival, which will be held across June, features hundreds of events across London, so wherever you are in the capital, you’ll find an event near you.

The Story of London festival has been organised around four ‘big weekends’ each of which is based upon a particular theme.

The Lives of Buildings weekend

This weekend, organised by Open House London and English Heritage, celebrates the richness and variety of London’s buildings. From the towering skyscrapers of the City and Canary Wharf to medieval churches, Georgian squares and Victorian terraces, its architecture is what makes London so distinctive.

Discover how buildings live, grow, die and are reborn, what links exist between past and present in London’s architecture, why some buildings stand the test of time and how London will look in the future.
