Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall
- Saturday 2 January 2010 7:00 pm

Everyone remembers the moment in The Wizard of Oz when black and white magically transforms into colour. First performed in the UK by the Phil two years ago, and back by popular demand, you’ll never forget hearing those glorious songs performed live, with the classic movie, by a full symphony orchestra.
Forget that scratchy old soundtrack – you’ll hear Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Follow the Yellow Brick Road and the whole of the score in full orchestral Technicolor.
Whether you’re introducing your children or grandchildren to The Wizard of Oz for the first time or – like conductor John Wilson – you know every line and still can’t get enough of it, this is the ultimate New Year family treat.
Wizardly Wicked Competition!
Calling all Dorothies, Tin Men, Cowardly Lions, Scarecrows and Wicked Witches… We’re running a fantastic fancy dress competition at each show with prizes for everyone that enters, so slip on your ruby shoes, don your tin hat, rehearse your roar and get ready for a parade like no other at the Phil. The competition is open to all ticket holders. The judging will take place 30 minutes before the screening so please turn up in plenty of time in your best Oz impression!
