Trails, Tweets and Treats this Easter with National Trust (4 to 19 April)

It’s the Easter holidays and time to get the family out and about and having some fun, so this year pop along and see just what the National Trust are up to.  Across England, Northern Ireland and Wales, the National Trust will be throwing themselves headlong into Easter celebrations, with over 200 properties will be running Easter trails and egg hunts.

But the fun doesn’t stop there; from Easter wildlife explorations to egg rolling and not forgetting Easter lambs and chicks there’s just so much going on that no matter where you visit we promise it’ll be family time well spent.

Here is just a taster of what’s on offer this Easter:

Glendurgan Garden ,Cornwall
4, 7-11, 13-18 April
10.30am – 5.30pm

Follow the journey of Charles Darwin and Captain Fitzroy on board HMS Beagle with a special trail for families around Glendurgan Garden. Discover their amazing finds and some pretty weird plants in our garden too.  Two trails: 7yrs and under, and 8yrs and over. Last trails at 4pm.

Stourhead, Wiltshire

Drop in and see who in your family can make the best Easter mask.

Dolaucothi Gold Mines, Carmarthenshire
10-13 April
11am – 4pm

There’s fun for everyone at Dolaucothi Goldmines this Easter.  Hunt for Easter eggs and try your luck at gold panning – anything you find is yours to keep! There are also two great family farm walks where you’ll be able to watch the farm’s herd being milked.

On your marks, egg-set, go…create your own raft, decorate an egg, then try your hand at sailing it down the Lode. Eggstra special prize for all brave designers! Activities, face painting, story telling and craft activities make Anglesey Abbey extra fun.

TINY WILDZONE -Easter lambs and eggs with a difference!
15 April
12.45pm – 3pm

The TINY WILDZONE is a new, programme of nature activities suitable for children aged 7 and under. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.  Have fun meeting the sheep and seeing if the gulls have laid eggs at Newtown then there’s the chance to make an Easter lamb with real wool from a National Trust sheep to take home.
