If you’re looking to do something a bit special this Easter, then definitely head to Hampton Court Palace. They’re giving you the chance to travel back in time to the 17th Century to meet the new monarch, Charles II!
It’s 1661 and, after years as the official residence of fun-hating Oliver Cromwell, the palace is about to welcome a new, merry monarch.
Charles will be bringing home his new bride Catherine of Braganza for a honeymoon like no other, as Barbara Viliers – one of his mistresses – perpares to give birth at the palace!
Safe to say there will be plenty of secrets to uncover!
Over the four day Easter holiday (29th March to 1st April), there will be live re-enactments at Hampton Court Palace giving you the chance to meet characters from this time period!
You can test yourself in the world famous maze, explore the Henry VIII’s apartments and even see some real life Tudor cooking as the royal kitchens prepare a feast fit for a king!
