Rhubarb has always had a slightly silly sort of reputation as a fruit — though, of course, as any pub quizzer knows it is not a fruit, nor even a vegetable, but a herb. This festival attempts to rehabilitate its reputation with cookery demonstrations and tastings.
Wakefield’s Festival of Food, Drink and Rhubarb, which is the first annual food festival in the UK’s “foodie” calendar, returns.
Join local and regional chefs, food producers and attractions as they celebrate the best of Yorkshire food and drink. Enjoy produce from the very best of Yorkshire with a local food market alongside a specialist market and top regional food champions who will be demonstrating dishes in the main marquee.
