Whilst enjoying a brew and a slice of cake, Wallace and Gromit will introduce you to some of the children who have benefited from the campaign. Taking a lead from the inventive tea parties that have been held in past years, Wallace and Gromit have decided to hold their party on a beautiful boat on the River Thames with their friends Yorkshire Tea!
Wallace and Gromit will set sail on the 2nd November from Bristol with a tea chest full of Yorkshire Tea, a two metre high inflatable tea pot as well as tea pots and bunting made by local children who benefited from the tea party last year. They will then visit Birmingham to meet children from the Birmingham Children’s hospital for a tea party before arriving in London for a grand tea party on the Thames.
The event is to build awareness of Wallace and Gromit’s Great British Tea Party, an annual fundraising event launched in 2008 by the national charity Wallace & Gromit’s Children’s Foundation.
The nationwide event takes place between 1st-21st December, when over 100,000 people across the UK are expected to take part by joining or holding a tea party in their area and making a donation to the charity.
