Witches and Wizards Week at Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway (26 October to 1 November)

Haverthwaite is entering into the spirit of Halloween, the station and restaurant will be decorated, staff dressed in costume to get you into a spooky mood.

Girls and Boys, dress up in your favourite scary spooky outfits ( adults join in as well ) and come along to Haverthwaite to ride in spooky decorated carriages behind the big steam engine, through the dark, dark tunnel, looking out for ghosts, witches, black cats, caldrons and pumpkins.
Will the ghosts of long ago still be roaming in the old haunted carriage in Haverthwaite tunnel?

Halt at Newby Bridge, and watch out for the headless Station Master, who prowls the platform, catch a glimpse of his house in the station shelter.

Arrive at Lakeside, where you can enjoy lots more spooky fun at Lakes Aquarium ( see website for details ), or on 30th /31stOctober and 1st November, you can board a Windermere Lakes Cruises for lots of spooky activites as you sail to Bowness. Combined tickets available from Haverthwaite Station, Lakeside or Bowness.

Rain or Shine, come along this half term and enjoy a spooky fun filled day at Haverthwaite and Lakeside.

Ghost Tain
The grand finale of our witches and wizards week. Are you brave enough to travel on the ghost train departing from Haverthwaite at 4pm.  Travel to Lakeside in a spooky named carriage with your seat reserved and watch all the drama unfolds. Through the dark, dark tunnel and of into who knows where! Screams, bangs, spooky story makes this a trip you should not miss.

Children who dress up will receive a small treat. Boys and girls get the adults to dress up and join in the fun with you.
