This year there are a whole host of great films coming out especially for kids, so FILMCLUB’s experts in film picked 10 of the very best, anticipated films coming to a cinema near you in 2011…

FILMCLUB likes its Disney heroines feisty and they don’t come much feistier than the Mandy Moore-voiced Rapunzel in this animated version of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale.

Nenette (TBC) – Out 4 Feb

Nenette is a 40-year-old orangutan and the oldest resident at the Paris Zoo. This brilliant documentary from the director of Etre Et Avoir gets inside the primates’ world like never before.

Rango (TBC) – Out 4 March

Johnny Depp voices a lizard in this visually impressive 3D animation set in the Mojave desert.

A Turtle’s Tale 3D (TB ) – Out 25 March

This animated tale of a turtle’s 50-year global journey also has a serious environmental message at its heart.

Mars Needs Mums (TBC) – Out 22 April

A little bit late for Mother’s Day, but this Disney sci-fi demonstrates both cutting edge animation technology and a healthy respect for the mums of the world.
