FILMCLUB DVD Film of The Week:

The Muppets (2012, U)

THE MUPPETS"AND YOU THINK YOU HAVE STRANGE MEETINGS – K

Director: James Bobin

Cast: Chris Cooper, Amy Adams, Bill Cobbs, Jason Segel

Gary (Jason Segel) and his brother Walter are (like loads of us are) huge fans of The Muppets and take a trip to Hollywood to visit their heroes. When they discover the amazing Muppet Studio building is derelict and due for demolition, the duo begin an unlikely rescue plan – a Muppets-hosted televised fundraiser!

Kermit and the gang are soon reunited one by one, with ever-the-diva Miss Piggy proving hard to convince. The film asks the question – can the furry friends still produce the same old magic that has entertained so many past-generations?

With their signature blend of brilliant humour, warm sentiment and musical gold sparkling here – the answer has to be yes! One of the best films The Muppets have ever produced and a movie that will keep you and your parents laughing all the way through – one of the most perfect family films of this, or any other, year.

Like this? Then also try these great films: Singin’ in the Rain (1952, U), Labyrinth (1986, U), The Muppet Movie (1979, U), The Muppets Take Manhattan (1984, U), 42nd Street (1933, U)
