Director: George Lucas

The Phantom Menace or Star Wars Episode 1 was first released in 1999 before 3D became the world-conquering phenomenon it is today. This 3D outing gives fans another chance to see the fourth Star Wars film to (first in the overall story’s sequence of events) in all its glory. The peaceful planet of Naboo is threatened by the evil Trade Federation. Two Jedi Knights – Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi – save Naboo’s queen, Padmé Amidala, and together they flee to the planet of Tatooine, where they encounter a young boy called Anakin Skywalker. The “force” is very strong in him – but he will eventually feel the attraction of the “Dark Side”.

Man on a Ledge

man_on_a_ledge_i1

Cert: (12A)

Running Time: 102 mins

Year Produced: 2012

Director: Josh Trank

Cast: Sam Worthington, Elizabeth Banks, Jamie Bell, Ed Harris

Escaped convict Nick Cassidy (Sam Worthington) balances on the window ledge of a high-rise hotel insisting to the police that he will jump. It is a desperate act that masks Nick’s ice-cold attempts to mastermind a cunning robbery. His quivering remarks to a concerned negotiator in fact double as secret instructions to his brother, who across the street is executing the robbery of a diamond; a precious stone owned by the very man who framed Nick for a crime he didn’t do. It’s a promising payback plot that combines the intensity of Phone Booth with the sharp stealth of Ocean’s 11.
