Out in cinemas this week!

Our friends, the educational charity, Filmclub are keeping us up-to-date with new movies in cinemas this week and telling us what they’re like!

The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012, 12)

Director: Stephen Chbosky

Cast: Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, Ezra Miller, Mae Whitman, Kate Walsh, Dylan McDermott, Paul Rudd

This is a funny film all about growing up and what happens as you get older. It follows teen outsider Charlie as he attempts to survive his first year of American high school.

To start with he’s a little bit shy – watching everything from the sidelines – until an older girl called Sam and her stepbrother Patrick take him under their wing. Soon Charlie’s having fun, partying and, naturally, falling in love, while in the classroom, his favourite teacher feeds his dreams of becoming a writer.

But beneath Charlie’s new confidence, he’s quite sad. He starts worrying about losing his older friends as they start preparing to leave for college.
