Fun Cooking: Flapjacks

  • 15-20 minutes


  • 125g/ 5 oz butter
  • 125g 5 oz demerara sugar
  • 5 tablespoons golden syrup
  • 225g/ 9 oz oats


  1. Melt butter,sugar and syrup in a saucepan
  2. Add oats and mix
  3. Spoon in a tin (6-8 inch)
  4. Bake in a medium oven for 15-20 minutes

Try this as an alternative

  • Add 75g/3oz of raisins or other dried fruits or add nuts and seeds or spice it with cinnamon. You could even brush melted chocolate over the cooled flapjack.
