More about Ballet
Fun Facts
Ballet is a beautiful type of dancing which has been enjoyed for hundreds of years by people all over the world.
The word Ballet comes from the word “dance” in Latin.
It is usually performed to classical music but more modern types of ballet can be danced to any kind of music, even chart music!
The meringue pudding called “Pavlova” is named after Anna Pavlova, a famous Russian ballet dancer.
Ballet dancers have to work very hard, even though it may look easy. There are strict rules to follow about how you place your feet, legs, hands, body and head – each rule must be practiced until perfect.
Even if you don’t have ballet lessons yourself, why not pretend to be a ballet dancer and dance to some of the music on Fun Kids?
