One of the biggest construction trucks is the Caterpillar 797b mining truck. It is 20 feet tall – that is as tall as a house! It is too heavy to drive on the roads. It has to be dismantled and built at the site where it is needed.

There are lots of rules about safety that Builders have to learn before going onto a building site. If a builder forgets his hard hat or steel toe-capped boots he or she might have to go home and get them!

Building sites can look like interesting places, especially with all the big construction vehicles, but be careful, they are very dangerous and you mustn’t play in them or too near – you could get hurt!

If you want to be a builder you will have to be good at maths – why not practice by counting bricks or measuring heights and lengths with a tape measure?
