Katy Perry was the Fun Kids Popstar of the Year of 2010, and she has had a pretty great 2011 too!

She kicked off the year with a global headline tour that saw her perform 124 shows from South America through to Australia, earning almost $50 million! Over 1 million people saw her on the California Dreams Tour which is the highest for any female popstar in 2011.

She also released her first single of the year ET featuring Kanye West and topped the charts making her Teenage Dream the ninth album in history to have four number-one singles!

That was quickly topped though when she released her next single Last Friday Night. With one of our favourite videos of the year – starring cast from Glee and also Rebecca Black! – it once again took Katy Perry to the top of the charts, making her the first female artist in the USA ever to have five number one singles from one album – pretty impressive!

Aside from releasing hit after hit, Katy Perry also starred in her first film, as Smurfette in The Smurfs. The film was a big hit earning over £300 million across the world! And talking about films, she also appears in the new film The Muppets – how cool!

It looks like 2012 is going to be just as exciting since Katy Perry is going to be bringing out her very own Barbie doll based on her own style.
