Never Say No to a Princess

Now this princess has always had everything she’s ever wanted but there comes a day when she asks for something she can’t have – a dragon! Since the King and Queen can’t give her what she wants, she cries and cries and cries and cries – so much so, that everything is swept away on a tide of tears, including the princess herself.

These days there’s so many cool gadgets and inventions that are just a part of our everyday life.

Whiffy Wilson: The Wolf Who Wouldn’t Wash

‘There was a wolf called Wilson
Who never brushed his hair.
He never washed his paws or face
Or changed his underwear.’

And as you can probably imagine, this meant that Wilson was a bit whiffy! So expect lots of gross beasties, wiggly things smelly things, and fungus-between-the-toes when you read this story (yeuch!).

Luckily, mucky Wilson has a good friend called Dotty who teaches him the difference between good dirt (muddy knees, grubby hands, mucky clothes from having fun in the garden) and bad dirt (smelly clothes, itchy skin, germy hands from never washing!). Not so whiffy Wilson now has a bath every day.

Bugville

Shrek

Is Shrek one of your favourite films? Then you might want to take a look at this story which was the inspiration for the film. This original Shrek is a lot uglier, scarier, more powerful and far more unpleasant than the one most of us recognize from the cinema.

This Shrek can cook food by glaring at it, spit flames and blow smoke from his ears. If a snake were foolish enough to bite him, it would die, and even the trees get out of the way to let Shrek by. Yup, he’s one repulsive ogre. Like the original story, he finds a maiden he wants to marry, although this one is even uglier than he is. And they both lived horribly ever after!

Look out for the talking donkey, a brave but foolish knight, a fierce dragon and lots of danger – but none of it is a match for Shrek!
