Fun Kids’ Guide to Rome

Explore the world with Zoom!

Hi, it’s Zoom here from Birmingham Airport!

I love travelling and keeping a record of all the places I’ve visited in my scrapbook!

Check out this entry from Rome!

Rome

Bella Roma! Fantastica!  Rome is full of culture from over 2,000 years. Obviously there’s a lot of Roman culture to explore and great things to photograph for your scrapbook! One of my favourites was the Coliseum where 70,000 spectators would cheer the gladiators – and if you fancy having a go, visit the Gladiator school!

Don’t forget to look out for the fountains, Rome is full of them – more than 2,000 in fact.  One of the most famous is the Trevi with water spouting from its gargoyles.

Did you know that there is an entire separate country in the middle of Rome? The Vatican City State is home to the Pope. Now you may not see him, but you certainly can explore St Peter’s Basilica, the Vatican Grottos and St Peter’s Square. And check out the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, painted by Michaelangelo.  It’s one of the most famous paintings in the world!

Wow, after all those sights, I needed to cool down and what better way than with a gelato – that’s Italian for Ice Cream. Try the classics like chocolate, pistacchio and hazelnut, or maybe be braver balsamic vinegar!

I love being able to remember the trips that I have done.

Why don’t you create a scrapbook of your holidays? It could be online like mine, or in a book or on your computer!
