Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2011 Winners!
It is that time again when big stars, big blimps and green slime all come together in one place for a great night – it’s the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards!
For a while now you’ve all been picking your winners and finally the blimp awards were handed out during a very messy awards party hosted by Jack Black.
Here are some of the key winners:
Nick UK’s Favourite Show – House of Anubis
This show only came to our screens this year, but that didn’t stop them beating the likes of iCarly and Big Time Rush to win the main prize.
In case you haven’t checked it out yet, this is a great show in which eigh sudents live together in a house and strange things start happening. There’s unsolved disappearances, a cranky caretaker and an attic that’s probably haunted!
Favourite Cartoon – Spongebob Squarepants
Everyone’s favourite undersea sponge has done it again! For two years in a row now Spongebob has been your favourite cartoon – this year beating the likes of Phineas and Ferb and The Penguins of Madagascar.
Whether he’s battling jellyfish or reclaiming King Neptune’s stolen crown, the Krusty Krab’s first-rate fry cook has a knack for getting into trouble… and somehow always getting out of it.
Favourite Book – Diary of a Wimpy Kid Series
He may be a wimp but he’s also a KCA winner now! Hardly suprising though – with five volumes of hilarious stories that follow seventh grader Greg Heffley through his life as a “wimp,” this series definitely deserves some honours.
Favourite Movie – The Karate Kid
In this remastered karate classic, Dre Parker (Jaden Smith) is forced to move to China when his mom gets a new job, placing him in a new land of cultural clashes and class bullies. But with the help of maintenance man Mr. Han (Jackie Chan), Dre finds that true strength lies within.
This movie gets a black belt in awesomeness so it’s no wonder it managed to edge out Alice in Wonderland and even the legend that is Harry Potter!
Favourite Music Group – Black Eyed Peas
Having won it in 2007 and 2010 not many people would have bet against Black Eyed Peas making it a third KCA win.
The Black Eyed Peas formed in 1989, and they’ve kept fans dancing to the beat ever since with hit singles like “My Humps,” “Don’t Phunk with My Heart,” “Boom Boom Pow,” “I Gotta Feeling” and “Imma Be.”
Favourite Song – ‘Baby’ by Justin Bieber (ft. Ludacris)
This wasn’t really much of a surprise – after all, did you know that the video for “Baby” is the most-viewed video on the whole internet?
Created by the unstoppable team of Justin Bieber and Ludacris, “Baby” carried the Bieb from a really big hit to a full-on sensation. Bieber fever!
