The X Factor is back this weekend and we’ve got all the juicy goss on what’s happening!
The entire show is getting a massive shake-up and there’s loads of drama in the first episode.
The judging panel will remain the same as before with Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger, Louis Walsh, and Sharon Osbourne.
Alesha Dixon also stands-in as a guest-judge for one episode – she’s a judging-panel natural as she’s also on Britain’s Got Talent!
However, there’s going to be less live shows than ever before. The series will only have six weeks of live shows instead of ten, with two contestants leaving each week.
It’s all about ratings, Simon admitted, saying:
‘The [auditions] and middle rounds [do really] well so the idea is to do more of the middle shows and less of the live shows’
Simon also said there would be no more gimmicks or themes this year adding that the show needed to become ‘more real’.
Dermot O’Leary admitted people need to be themselves more.
Contestants are also expected to start singing their own songs during the audition process, a bit like on The Voice.
The X Factor returns to ITV on September 2nd at 8pm with a 90-minute audition show filmed at Thorpe Park!
A second, shorter show follows on Sunday evening at the same time.
