How to re-tune to Fun Kids UK in London and the South East.

Keep listening to Fun Kids UK on your DAB Radio.

We’ve changed the way we broadcast on DAB Digital Radio in London and the South East.

If you listen on a DAB radio you need to re-tune from Fun Kids (which will now have stopped working) to Fun Kids UK if you want to keep receiving the station.

If you’re not in London, the following also explains how to pick us up!

How to re-tune to Fun Kids UK

If you have a modern DAB Digital Radio for your home – or you have a DAB Digital Radio as standard in your car – you should have no trouble picking up Fun Kids UK.

For home sets, press ‘Autotune/Autoscan’ on your digital radio (normally holding this button down for 10 seconds makes the radio scan for everything). You should then see us in the alphabetical list as Fun Kids UK.

In some in-car digital radios you often have to tune by multiplex (bundles of stations). Just scroll to SDL National (11A) and we should be alongside stations like Absolute 80s and Planet Rock.

Remember to save us to a preset so we’re easier to find next time!

What if I can’t find Fun Kids UK?

If your radio shows the full station names, but you can’t see Fun Kids UK, firstly try doing a ‘full retune’ or ‘full autotune’ of your radio – this does a full search and updates your radio to get all the new stations that it can pick up. Most radios do a full retune if you hold down the autotune button.

If you’ve done the full retune and Fun Kids UK doesn’t show up, it’s likely to be one of two problems:

  • Your radio might not be picking up our transmissions – make sure you’ve done a full retune. If we’re not there, and you can’t see Absolute 80s or Planet Rock either it means that your radio’s having trouble finding all of the radio stations it should. Try moving the radio around the house (we suggest upstairs by a window) and do another retune – this will give you the best chance of picking up all of the stations you should.
  • If you have found Absolute 80s and Planet Rock but still can’t seem to find Fun Kids UK, it might mean that your radio’s a little old, and therefore not DAB+ or Tick Mark compatible. We’re afraid that you need to have a DAB+ radio to pick up Fun Kids UK.

I can find Fun Kids UK, but there’s no audio

Sadly this means that your radio isn’t DAB+ compatible, so you won’t be able to pick up Fun Kids on it.

What to do next
